FAQ

When and where should I put my cart out for pickup, and can I place a sticker to identify my cart?
  •  The cart should be placed within 5 feet of the road unless otherwise advised, this is so we can collect and dump as fast as possible. (See pictures)
  • All customers should place the cart out the evening before their collection day. Our drivers start early for safety reasons and to ensure they make it to the landfill on time, to avoid heavy traffic and should a breakdown/delay occur.
  • You may place a sticker on the cart to help identify it. This helps in areas where multiple customers carts are close together for pickup. Please do not paint or deface the cart, see damage policy.

I have more trash than expected, what are my options?

We do not collect extra trash. All trash and boxes should be placed in the cart for pickup. We do offer a 2nd cart at an additional fee if you find that one cart is not enough. Just call or email us and we can update your account and deliver you an additional trash cart. Please allow a reasonable amount of time for us to process this request. Should you have a party or other event and have a need for a one-time special pickup of (a reasonable amount of) bagged trash we will offer this service for an extra fee. You will need to contact us with how many bags you will have and when you will be placing them out.

How do I fit boxes in my cart?

We ask that you break down and flatten all the boxes. We find that placing them flat to the sides of the cart and then placing your bags in the cart will work best when we are dumping the carts (See Picture). The trucks use gravity when dumping and this will help to ensure the boxes slide out. Whole boxes that are not broken tend to get stuck inside the cart and our drivers will not be responsible for removing any trash that is stuck in the cart.

  • Examples are shown with about 5 cardboard boxes ranging from small to extra-large with 2 full trash bags placed in 2 different ways to show room for more in the trash cart.
  • Depending on the size and how many boxes you have you should on average be able to fit about 5 bags of trash in a cart.
  • With the example pictures below the cardboard boxes take up the space of about 1 full trash bag.
  • Breaking down the boxes applies when placed in recycle bin as well, just place loose recycling in cart with broken down boxes containing no plastic tape, food residue, etc.
  • If you have a large tv box with Styrofoam cutouts please break down the Styrofoam and place it in a trash bag in the trash cart. Please note Styrofoam cannot be recycled.

Weather related delays or cancellations (snow, heavy winds and rains, and flooding)

Inclement weather, what should I do with cart?

You are responsible for securing the cart so that it does not blow or wash away. Lost carts may be subject to a reimbursement fee. We suggest securing the cart tightly to a structure such as a porch or stairs, or if applicable placing the cart inside of a building such as a barn or garage.

I am on a unpaved road (gravel/dirt); would you service my location?

If we service your area, we can collect your trash, however the cart would have to be placed on main/paved roads. We will not go down dirt or gravel paths/roads as we have very large trucks. We do not want to cause ruts or damage to property and the potential to get our trucks stuck due to rain, flooding, etc.

What should I do if I have animals in my neighborhood, how can I secure my cart?

You may bungee cord the lid on the cart. We suggest double bagging to prevent odor that may attract animals and washing the cart with lemon or pine scented cleaner to mask smells.

The cart is dirty or has trash stuck in the bottom, how should I clean it, or can I have it replaced?
  • As stated in the service agreement you are responsible for the upkeep of the cart, as we do not offer cleaning carts as a service, and we do not replace carts for being dirty.
  • We suggest you bag all trash as a preventative measure and periodically wash the cart with an environmentally safe cleaner. This will help to keep the cart clean and reduce odors.
  • If trash becomes stuck in the bottom of the cart, it is not the responsibility of our drivers to remove that trash for sanitary and safety reasons.
  • The carts are dumped by gravity and if items are stuck, we suggest using a broom stick or similar item to break loose the trash.
